Gift of Hope

The Gift of Hope has been with us since the very beginning of our journey and continues to walk beside us every step of the way. We are forever grateful for their guidance, support, and unwavering love.

Gift of Hope is an organization dedicated to saving and improving lives through organ and tissue donation while providing compassionate care and support to donor families during their most difficult moments. From the start, we have been welcomed into the Gift of Hope family, and it has been an incredible privilege to give back and support others who may find themselves in a situation similar to ours in November of 2022.

Through this partnership, the Live LaMore Foundation, alongside Gift of Hope and the Zuleg Foundation, has been honored to help provide Legacy Blankets to families who are losing a loved one and navigating the organ donation process. These blankets serve as a symbol of comfort, remembrance, and the lasting impact their loved one will have on others.

We are deeply grateful to be part of this meaningful work and look forward to continuing our partnership as we support families, honor donors, and help carry forward legacies of love and hope.

AVSDA (American Veterans Service Dog Academy)

The AVSDA, formally known as the American Veterans Service Dog Academy, was developed in 2013 to help with the goal of reducing the number of suicides among Veterans, especially those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The AVSDA’s method to help is to aid in healing and improve the lives of Veterans through the love and support of a service dog. The AVSDA not only provides training for the service dogs, but they provide an 18-month training program for Veterans as well. By providing training for the Veterans along with their service dog, they are providing a partnership between the two. The hope is that the service dog learns to read and respond to their handler’s specific situations without the use of commands. Through this process, Veterans are also guided on their own personal journey to uncover a deeper understanding of how they interact with their dogs, while also teaching their dogs to provide support in times of need. The Live LaMore Foundation feels that this organization embodies Aaron’s love and respect for all Veterans. Aaron was very proud to be a Veteran of the United States Army and had a deep respect for other Veterans and the sacrifices that they have made for our country. Aaron also had a love for dogs. He grew up having dogs in his home and if you were lucky enough to know him for the last few years of his life, you would have seen the amazing bond he had with their family pet, his beloved Gold Retriever, Kevin.

Manteno High School Scholarships

The Live LaMore Foundation provides scholarships to 2 members of Manteno High School’s Graduating Class. Manteno High School is located in Manteno, Illinois, a small town approximately one hour south of Chicago. Aaron grew up and lived in Manteno for the majority of his life, attending Manteno schools until his High School graduation in 1995. After graduation, he decided to enlist in the army, where he served for three years. Upon his retirement from the military, he returned to Manteno. He continued to live here until he moved with his wife Erin and daughter Mia to New Lenox, Illinois. While Aaron was known for getting into a little bit of trouble at school at times, he was also known for being a friend to everyone. Aaron’s mom remembers him as being artistic in high school, which carried on after the army, when he received his degree in graphic design. Aaron had the biggest heart and was always there to help others. Furthermore, he had a strong sense of service, even unto his death. When Aaron passed away, he became an organ donor. In turn, he saved the lives of many others who needed help. We decided that providing scholarships to those who have a similar desire for service and helping others was a great way for the Live LaMore Foundation to honor Aaron’s Legacy of service and giving. On top of that, providing these scholarships honor the school and town he grew up in, which was a huge part of his life and who he came to be.
